Agriculture

The agriculture plays a leading role in the region’s economy. The region specializes in milk, meat, grain and potato production. The region’s agro-industrial complex includes 8 agricultural industrial cooperatives and 5 municipal agricultural unitary companies, the agricultural complex Khlupin of National Park Pripiatskiy, Agrotekhservis and Turov, a number of farms.

There are a number of industrial companies in the region: the republican unitary company Zhitkovichi Engine Works, JSC Zhitkovichles, republican unitary company Zhitkovichskoye, state forestry association Zhitkovichi leskhoz, JSCs Saturn and Proton M and also two fish industries – JSCs Krasnaya Zorka and Beloye, companies of consumer services, foodstuffs and construction.
