Population
The population of the region is 46,8 thousand people including 16,7 thousand - in Zhitkovichi and 3,2 thousand - in Turov. Rural population comprises 26,7 thousand people, 14,319 pensioners. The ethnic pattern is as following: there are over 45 thousand Belarusians, 1,792 Russians, 836 Ukrainians and 439 Gypsies in the region. Other diasporas are very small.
